Physicians Medical Group of Santa Cruz County bases authorization decisions on the member's
health plan benefits and appropriateness of care. Denial decisions are not rewarded. Decision makers are not encouraged by financial incentives to make decisions to result in lower usage of services. PMG staff and network physicians involved in authorization decision making sign an annual formal attestation affirming that PMG does not offer incentives to encourage inappropriate use of services.
